The Treatment Program for Families With Minors at Risk or Unprotected will provide financial assistance to the City Council of Las Gabias of just over 88.800 euros. The Junta de Andalucia’s Department of Equality, Social Policies and Conciliation granted this financial aid. According to the Board, this subsidy is composed of two payments. The first payment was approximately 60,000 euros while the second was about 30,000.

The Board’s program is registered in the Child Protection System to meet the needs of Andalusia’s child population. This system was created with the goal of preventing risk situations early and achieving child welfare. The program will begin in May and end in April next year.

This economic boost will allow the City Council to launch an intervention program for families with minors at-risk. It will provide guidelines and rehabilitative guidance for children who are in a situation that could directly or indirectly impact the well-being of minors.

Antonio Jesus Castillo (territorial delegate for Education and Equality of Junta de Andalucia), explained that this program will “help and ease the suffering of many minors, who are in a difficult or conflicting situation.” The Ministry has shown its strong support for the province, the delegate added.

Two guidelines are set forth in the program. The first is to protect the rights of minors and encourage her development within her family. He explained that the second is the possibility to return to the family of origin in cases where, after adoption as protection, “family reunion is considered the best alternative and most appropriate for minors.” The Board issued a press release.
