Maribel Sanchez Torregrosa (delegate of Junta de Andalucia) traveled today with Vicente Garcia Egea (territorial delegate for Tourism), to Sufli to make an institutional visit at the City Council. They met with Raul Guirao the mayor to discuss the needs of the town.
Luis Aurelio Perez Perez, president of the Association of Tourism Entrepreneurs of Valle del Almanzora also attended the visit.
Torregrosa wanted to recognize the importance of inland tourism, which helps to establish population in municipalities and encourages the development of the services sector in these communities. This highlighted the Ministry’s support for the towns of interior, which includes tools to promote their tourist attractions. They visited an old oil mill that, with the support of the regional administration will be an oil interpretation centre and visitor center>>. They also visited a “Gourmet”, where they bought all the Sufli handcrafted products, including jams, tomatoes, dry peppers, and fried them. The delegate thanked the “work of the mayor in this municipality, who is working to consolidate tourism sector in his city and for his dedication to the export and production of homemade products like fritada.”
Garcia Egea highlighted the natural resources of Sufli in rural tourism, which is growing after the pandemic. The town’s natural beauty is unsurpassed. The trails such as the Yeseras, the Pilgrim route, or the Penascos allow you to experience the natural beauty of Los Filabres.
Garcia Egea also reminded Juan Marin of the commitment that the Ministry has made to promote local resources in Andalusian municipalities, which are tourist attractions that encourage visitors. These attractions, Garcia Egea said, “represent an opportunity for wealth and employment” for rural communities. “We know that it is important to continue the collaboration between the administrations to promote indigenous resources such as their festivals and natural landscapes.
Sufli’s mayor thanked the Junta de Andalucia delegates for their interest in improving the resources of his municipality. We work with the City Council to promote inland tourism to prevent depopulation and attract tourists who are committed quality in the Sierra de Filabres. He concluded by stating that he values “collaboration among administrations to ensure growth of inland communities.”
