Russian President Vladimir Putin is considering, according to his own words, the facilitation of the awarding of Russian passports to citizens of Ukraine. “We actually think about it, to approve the citizenship in a simplified manner to all citizens of Ukraine, not only the inhabitants of the republics of Luhansk and Donetsk,” Putin said on Saturday at the Silk road conference in Beijing.
Kiev reacted to the announcement with a Protest. The permanent representative of the Ukrainian government to the Council of Europe, Dmytro Kuleba, has condemned Putin’s plans.
