The Danish fodboldlandsholdsspiller Andreas Cornelius has played his last match in this season.

Bordeauxspilleren is Monday, had surgery in the groin and need to retrain for the next 12 weeks.

It will write to his agent, Per Steffensen, on Facebook.

Cornelius has been hampered by the lyskegener the past 18 months, and it has caused annoying injuries, writes Steffensen.

Until recently, the attacker has tried to work out the problems away, hoping to avoid a surgery, but it turned out not to be possible.

– Cornelius will get a genoptræningsperiode at 12 weeks, after which he will be able to go fully in all the training and be physically ready for matches

– I know how much the kid (Cornelius, ed.) have gone through the frustrations of not being able to get to grips with the pain and discomfort and at the same time be measured on its performance, knowing full well that he was not at full strength, writes to the agent.

the Attacker is leased to Bordeaux from the Italian Atalanta. In the French league it has been for 20 matches and three goals, but he has not been on the pitch since 20. February.

He was also not in the landsholdssamlingen and the two matches against Kosovo and Switzerland in march.

Cornelius played the last of his 23 matches in november, when he was shifted into the final phase of the 0-0 match against Ireland in Aarhus.
