The R4 around Gent is again free, after in Destelbergen a seinbrug with a dynamic sign that indicates was hit. It reports the Flemish traffic centre. The signs threatened to fall, and was immediately demolished, so the R4 in the direction of Merelbeke for hours was closed.

Around 19.30, went to the R4 re-open, after the sign that indicates down was achieved. How the collision of the signs above the motorway, happened, is not yet fully clear, but probably was a crane transported. After the collision, there was a file from Desteldonk to Oostakker, where the waiting time increased to an hour.

Tough evening

“It is a difficult evening in Ghent,” said spokesman Peter Bruyninckx of the Flemish traffic centre earlier in the evening. “The traffic on the R4-East, is completely silent. All the traffic should be there in Oostakker and via the N70 (Antwerpse Steenweg) in the direction Beervelde/Lochristi, and then through the N449 (Beerveldse Job) to the driveway Beervelde of the E17.” the
