Håndboldgiganten Viborg HK is in serious financial trouble and are in real danger of closing, if the club is not provided with capital.
It says Jørgen Hansen, who is the temporary manager of the club after the sacking of ceo Henrik Dahl in the last week, to Jyllands-Posten.
– We must have infused capital. It is an absolute necessity, and it is our greatest challenge right now.
– Our economy is in decline, just as it is in many other places in håndboldbranchen. If not we will receive the money, we will close, he says to the newspaper.
Jørgen Hansen can not say exactly what the amount of Viborg must be supplied in order to be able to run further, but that the amount is closer to three million than to ten million crowns.
In 2014 was Viborg HK also in serious konkursfare, but was rescued when investors shot 5.2 million kroner into the club.
The håndboldkvinder has won 14 Danish championships. The club is currently number seven in the HTH League and is probably a part of the DM-finals.
Henrik Dahl last week was fired as the director sounded the grounds from the club, that it was as a result of the economic consequences.
