Sony on Monday morning revealed during the mobilmessen in Barcelona. The new top – who finally gets a name, you may remember – is what you would call a ‘paper launch’. The phone is unfinished and will only be ready when we hit the summer.
Still, you can already after the first look well call it a unusual story. Indeed, this is the first mobile that combines an OLED-display, 4K resolution and 21:9 format. By the way, supports the screen also HDR.
We could unfortunately not get the chance to lock it up and therefore must primarily evaluate it on its exterior and Sony’s specifications.
Xperia 1 feels very solid and well built. And should you believe the specifications, especially the screen, that’s going to beat all the others. Neither Huawei, Samsung or Apple can be with here.

Dropping the fingerprints in the screen

New and old in the same model

As the Xperia 1 have the displays in the elongated 21:9-format. And for those who watch much video on their phone, is the oblong format is certainly an exciting news.
