Kundvagnsstölderna in Jakobsberg has in recent years been something of a serial. They have generated letters to the editor and articles in the local press, as well as a Facebook page with the name ”The abandoned kundvagnarnas city”.
But the thefts have continued and grocery stores are particularly affected, says the Stockholm Directly.
” We have not stopped with the shopping carts of their own accord, but all are twisted. A new cart costs sek 5,000, and I can’t afford to buy new ones every month, ” says Jenny Alarms, the manager of the Coop in the Jakobsberg centre, told the newspaper.
There are 150 shopping carts stolen.
” We do not know where they have gone. There are lots of customers who ask where the shopping carts are, and we get to explain that they are stolen. If someone finds a shopping cart as it says Coop on the may the love to come to us with, ” continues Jenny Alarms.
