Oudsbergen There is no doubt about who is the culprit of the vluchtmisdrijf, that in december 2015, the life took to the 16-year-old Dylan Aendekerk from Gulls (Oudsbergen). The boy was hit when he just came back from a party, to the end of exams to celebrate. The 33-year-old offender from Peer left the boy’s late at night, badly injured lying in a ditch, where he in the course of the night died. Until last week, still declared the arrested driver tells me that not he, but a trucker the boy had been hit.
The tragic accident happened on december 15, 2015 one o’clock at night. The 16-year-old Dylan was that night together with a good friend the end of exams to celebrate. After the party rode the young man through the Heidestraat back home. He was almost at his parental house to the Maastrichterdijk, when the accident happened. Dylan was struck by a car and in a ditch thrown. The driver himself had committed vluchtmisdrijf. They were the worried parents that the morning itself went in search of their son. They also had to raise the alarm to the local police. Along with an agent found the mother eventually her son, who died back in the canal. The victim appeared to have died.
The accident happened was on a straight piece of Heidestraat, and nota bene near a street lamp. The same day police were able to all of a 33-year-old man arrested on suspicion of the collision. It even went to a neighbor of the victim. The pieces to his car and the fibers of Dylan’s backpack and jeans on the bumper made it clear that he is in the collision was involved. However, the man later to the judge that he only about the wheel of Dylan’s bike ridden was, and that’s probably a different vehicle, the victim had already been hit. Until last week, he stated that a trucker probably Dylan had boasted.
100 per hour
But they believe the judge so nothing more of it. “The liability is fixed,” says a lawyer Roel Verachtert behalf of the zwaarbeproefde parents. “The court recognizes that this man is to fast: more than a hundred per hour through a narrow street of four meters wide. If you at night a cyclist’s encounter is a collision almost inevitable. Also for the parents is the sense, therefore, a contradiction: they are satisfied that the man is not out with his excuses, and that his guilt has been established. But for the penalty; nevertheless, they are concerned. This man receives from the court a prison sentence of three years, of which two years effective. A part he has already served in pretrial. They will be so again soon eye to eye with the director. Because who lives just about in the backyard of the bereaved family. In addition, it remains to be seen, or the driver appeal.”
“At any family event, it remains very difficult,” says uncle Nico Aendekerk. “We miss Dylan all very much. His parents are for their lives punished. This whole judicial process has lasted a very long time, and we would like to gradually shut down. We may indeed be difficult to understand why the driver still with all sorts of excuses come up. We are certainly pleased that the judge on his guilt already does not leave any doubt to exist.”
