The former u.s. cardinal Theodore McCarrick has been stripped of his priesthood as a result of the charges against him.
This was stated by the Vatican, writes the news agency Reuters.
Last year lost McCarrick its kardinaltitel in the wake of allegations against him for, among other things, the sexual abuse of minors.
the Charge against McCarrick appeared in June last year. It was the representatives of the catholic church, which held that there had emerged credible information about the american abuse of a 16-year-old boy.
