It was Norwegian triumph as Henrik Kristoffersen Friday won the WORLD championship gold in the giant slalom in front of favourite Marcel Hirscher.

Henrik Kristoffersen won with a time of 2 minutes and 20,24 seconds after the two passes, and he was thus 0,20 seconds faster than Hirscher, who got the silver medal.

On the third place ended the French Alexis Pinturault, who was in the lead after the first pass.

Here was Henrik Kristoffersen in third place after Hirscher.

The 29-year-old austrian was the favorite to regain his WORLD championship gold, but he got off to a bad prelude, when he lay sick in the days leading up to Friday’s race in the Swedish Åre.

It prevented, however, not skifænomenet in to put up and also provide proper resistance, but it was not successful Hirscher to secure his seventh WORLD cup medal of his career.

The 24-year-old Henrik Kristoffersens first WORLD cup medal, after he got silver in the same discipline at the OLYMPICS in Pyeongchang in 2018.

Danish Casper Næsted Dyrbye also participated in the WORLD cup race. He was noted for a number 45 with a time of 2 minutes and 39,86 seconds.
