the nuclear power Plant Ringhals is Sweden’s largest. The plant, which houses four reactors. Two of them are, however, lukningstruede because they are outdated.

But it is according to the Swedish expert Staffan Qvist, who is the Doctor of Nuclear Engineering from UC Berkley and independent energirådgiver, so is it any nonsense, writes dr.dk.

According to him fails the nothing.

– They are being closed due to an outdated analysis, which does not hold water today. They fail nothing and earned billions of dollars into last year. With the limited investment of between 50-100 million, the reactors run to the mid 2020’s. But there is no technical or economic limitation to continue operating to 2030’s, as is the plan with the other Swedish reactors.

According to the expert should Denmark take over the reactors, which according to his calculations, could make the energy production is CO2-neutral in only two years. And that it is cheaper than any other realistic solution.’

From the Danish experts, there is a little more skepticism as to whether it can become a reality.

– I have not encountered the idea before, and I guess that perhaps it is born little in joke. But tjo, why not, he says. The more wind we get, the more we have to share electricity with our neighbours. And then we get the already more nuclear power, he says. But I’m not sure that it is politically workable in Denmark, says Bent Lauritzen, head of department at DTU Nutech, Center for Nuclear Technologies to the dr.dk.

the nuclear power Plant in Ringhals

the Ringhals is the largest nuclear power plant in Sweden.

It is owned by the companies Vattenfall and E. ON Kärnkraft.

It was built in the 70’s and 80’s.
