the Court in Odense has been forced to undergo a major renovation to accommodate 15 young people, who are accused in a case of a brutal assault on a 25-year-old man.
in terms of the number of defendants is the case, the biggest ever in the local courthouse, writes the Times.dk.
the attack happened in October 2017, when the huge tæskehold suddenly appeared in the small village of Kølstrup south of Kerteminde.
According to the indictment hev 14 of the 15 defendants the victim out of a car, after which he was beaten with golf clubs and a baseball bat.
The 15. accused of regular violence and threats against the 25-year-old victim.
The 25-year-old was also shot several times on the body, the legs and in the groin.
Since the bay does not have any courtrooms that can accommodate all the 15 accused persons and their counsel, the building has been forced through a major renovation.
– It is not commonplace, but the matter is dealt with in completely the same way as all the other cases, says the head of administration at the Court of Odense, Torben Christiansen, to Fyfe.dk.
– Everyone should have the opportunity to hear and see during the case, and since we use a large courtroom, is that far from the back row up to the judges.

Among the defendants are both ethnic danes and people of other ethnic background.
Several of them are according to the New york.dk current or former members of the gang Gremium.
Many of the defendants is therefore at risk of deportation of Denmark, if the Prosecution is upheld in court.
