The british journalist John Cantlie (45) was in 2012, kidnapped by The islamic state (IS) in Syria. Since 2016, there has not been heartbeat from Cantlie.

He was kidnapped along with James Foley, who was brutally killed by ICE in 2014. Foley had probably been in captivity for more than 600 days when he was killed.

Sources in the ICE to have claimed that Cantlie was killed when the ICE was forced out of Mosul in 2017. In the middle of January in the year claimed, however, the director of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mustafi Bali, that Cantlie might be alive.

Now says the Uk’s sikkerhetsminister, Ben Wallace, Cantlie still can be alive.

Still trapped

British authorities believe he is still being held by the ICE, writes CNN.

Cantlie, krigsfotograf and correspondent, has previously worked for a number of british media. He has been kidnapped twice while he has worked as a krigsreporter. The first time was in July 2012, in Syria. Cantlie released free after a week, with your life intact.

Only four months later he was kidnapped again.

The british artist has been used by ICE in a variety of propagandavideoer – the last from 2016. Then showed Cantlie awareness about the air raids carried out by the U.S.-led coalition had destroyed four of the five main bridges in the city.

In the 2014 published IS a video in which Cantlie said he would probably be killed.

In the video, which was the sixth ICE had published, with Cantlie, he introduced himself as a british citizen who was betrayed by his homeland and taken captive by the ICE.

He told about the failed attempt to free him and other hostages, and criticized the government for choosing a complicated operation rather than to pay the ransom.
