In his show “Rothen s’igne” on RMC, Jérôme Rothen spoke about the imminent transfer of Marco Verratti to Qatar. Despite having become the most successful player in the history of the Parisian club (30 titles) and the second player to have played the most matches in the colors of Paris SG (416 matches), Rothen considers the midfielder of 30 years as “an emblematic player”, but not as a club legend.

“Verratti is one of the 20-30 players (who have marked the history of PSG). But I don’t see him as a legend, said Jérôme Rothen.

“As an emblematic player who has marked the history of the club, that is a certainty. But I wouldn’t go as far as the word legend. For me, there can’t be 20 legends,” added the former Paris SG player.

Rothen still wanted to pay tribute to the Italian, who arrived in 2012 in the French capital from Pescara: “He is the most successful player. Even if the Qataris arrived with great resources that were not available before, it doesn’t matter. Titles, you have to win them, you have to be present. Staying more than 10 years in a club like PSG is an achievement.”

The RMC consultant is also campaigning for the organization of a tribute at the Parc des Princes for Marco Verratti during the reception in Nice on September 15.
