Travel, Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, has a plan from the personal to the historical centre of the French capital to turn it into a pedestrian area. “The proposal comes from residents and it comes out of a vision that we share,” said the socialist mayor in the newspaper ‘Le Monde’.
The plan covers the first four arrondissements of the city. They are under the more famous tourist attractions such as the Notre-Dame cathedral, the Louvre, the Pompidou Centre and the famous islands of the Seine, the Île de la Cité and Île Saint Louis.
In a first version of the plan is the centre -where many of the office buildings – from 2019 on Sunday forbidden for cars.
Hidalgo is working on her first term of office. She has over the past few years, various measures have been taken to the traffic from her town to fend off.
