French judoka Sarah-Léonie Cysique (-57 kg), Olympic vice-champion in Tokyo, won the silver medal at the World Masters in Budapest on Friday, the second most important competition of the year after the Worlds.

One year before the Olympic Games at home, Sarah-Léonie Cysique (25) felt reassured after failing to win a world medal in Doha. But as at the Worlds in May, she lost to Canadian Jessica Klimkait, the 2021 world champion.

Cysique, second at the Masters of Jerusalem 2022 and that of Doha in 2021, is subscribed to the silver in this competition which brings together the 36 best in the world in each category.

In the same category, Priscilla Gneto lost her match for bronze against Japan’s Haruka Funakubo, double world vice-champion.
