The victory at the end of the suspense: the Slovenian Matej Mohoric won for a second the Tour of Poland, counting for the World Cycling Tour, at the end of the 7th and last stage which returned to the Belgian Tim Merlier, Friday in Kravovie.

At the start in Zabrze, Mohoric and the Portuguese Joao Almeida occupied the lead of the classification in the same second.

In the end, thanks to the bonuses gleaned during the stage (Mohoric won an intermediate sprint just ahead of his rival), the rider from the Barhain-Victorius team was ahead of the rider from the UAE team by the smallest gap.

At 28, the winner of Milan-Sanremo 2022, triple stage winner on the Tour de France, signed the 21st success of his career in Poland.

On the list of winners of this 80th edition, he succeeds the Briton Ethan Hayter.

Tim Merlier signed his second success this week in Poland. Very well led by his teammate and compatriot Bert Van Lerberghe, the sprinter from the Soudal-Quick Step formation beat the Dutchman Arvid de Kleijn and the Colombian Fernando Gaviria.
