Probable opponent of Marseille in the next round, Panathinaikos dominated Dnipro 3-1 in the first leg of the second preliminary round of the Champions League, Tuesday in Kosice in Slovakia.

With this victory, the Greeks take a serious option to qualify for the 3rd preliminary round where they will face Olympique de Marseille, before the return match, which will take place at home on Tuesday August 1st.

After quickly opening the scoring thanks to Andraz Sporar (10th), the Greeks increased the score on a round counter led by Serbian international midfielder Filip Djuricic (74th), before a penalty from Fotis Ioannidis (84th) sealed the outcome of the match.

The Ukrainians, despite several chances, only reduced the score at the end of the match with Volodymyr Tanchyk (90th). The winner of this confrontation will face OM in the third preliminary round on August 8/9 (go) and August 15 (return to the VĂ©lodrome stadium).
