Jonas Vingegaard, a few hours from sealing his second Tour de France of his career, confirmed to the Hispanic press that he would be at the start of the Vuelta, the Tour of Spain (August 26 – September 17). On the other hand, the Dane will not be present at the world cycling championships in Scotland on August 13.
On the Vuelta, Vingegaard will be lined up alongside Primoz Roglic and will have to face the competition offered by defending champion Remco Evenpoel. Tadej Pogacar, winner of the 20th stage of the Great Loop although unable to keep pace with Vingegaard in the general standings, will not be the leader of UAE Emirates on Spanish roads. The young Spaniard Juan Aysuo, promised to a bright future, will replace Pogacar at the head of the team.
