A mother and a father from California, who among other things is linked to several of their 13 children, fixed to beds and starving them, has on Friday declared himself guilty of torture and other forms of abuse of children.

the Case is in several places been dubbed ‘house of horrors’ (rædslernes house, red.).

David and Louise Turpin pleaded guilty to 14 charges, including abuse of minors and adults children and deprivation of liberty.

According to the AFP news agency declared the californian couple out due to having tortured 12 of their 13 children.

the Sentencing is expected on 19. april later in the year.

Daughter alerted police
the Pair was arrested back in January 2018, when its 17-year-old daughter called the police after fleeing from the family home southeast of Los Angeles.

the Children, who were between two and 29 years old at the time, was extremely underweight and had not taken a bath in months. The home smelled violently of human remains.

According to the investigators were several of the children stopped growing. The children also described how they had been beaten, starved and put into cages.

the Children lived so isolated in their homes, that some of them were not even aware of the role of the police, as it appeared among them.

Two girls on 11 and 14 years old had been released from their shackles, shortly before the police arrived to the home. A 22-year-old son was still chained.

The young man said to a police officer that he and his siblings were suspected of stealing food and to be disrespectful.

Previously he had been tied with rope, but when he learned to wrench himself free from them, if the parents were gone over to the more powerful chains. Them had he been put in several times in a period of six years.

No one had a suspicion
It has previously emerged that the family not before the arrest in 2018 was in the police or the authorities ‘ spotlight.

Søskendeflokkens grandmother has told the u.s. media NBC News, the 13 kids are always dressed alike and in a row, according to age, when they left the house. On the surface it seemed quite normal, swollen she:

– They were just like any other family, and they had so good relations to each other. It is not just something I find on. The children were really amazing and would always say ‘sweet’ to each other. We were always quite surprised at how courteous they were, tells Betty Turpin.

Louise Ann Turpins sister has in the aftermath of the gruesome revelations about the extensive abuse told that she is deeply surprised by the truth, which she thought was quite different:

– We always thought that they lived the perfect life. She would tell us that they went on trips to Disneyland and Las Vegas all the time, says Teresa Robinette.
