Actor Jussie Smollett is charged with disturbing the public order and give false testimony. This was stated by a spokesman for the police in Chicago on Wednesday.
The us actor, known from the tv series ‘Empire’, is suspected of having lied about an assault, which he reported in January.
Smollett, who is black and a declared homosexual, turned 29. January to the police in Chicago and told that he had been assaulted by two apparently supporters of the president of the UNITED states, Donald Trump.
According to Smollet were the two masked men have shouted racist and homophobic epithets after him, like they should have hung a noose on the neck of him, and poured bleach over him.
