China has reaffirmed its determination to force a reunification with Taiwan in the extreme case, even by means of military force. President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that Beijing “reserves the Option to take all the necessary measures”. Ultimately, the reunification of Taiwan will be with the mainland, said Xi. This was in the interest of and for the benefit of “Taiwanese compatriots”.
on the occasion of the speech, XI was the memory of a message from the year 1979 in Taipei, the Communist leadership in Beijing, Taiwan asked for the reunification and an end to the military confrontation.
China is considered one of the offshore island of Taiwan since the end of the civil war and the victory of Mao Tse-tung led the Communist party over the Kuomintang nationalists in 1949, as a renegade province and seeks reunification on his terms. Taiwan split off from China, explained, however, never formally its independence.
