Humor was plenty of, when Fiat some years ago launched the high-500X.

It came with a tv advert, where an ageing Italian gentleman was on his way out in an erotic session with a mature, Italian mama. He had, however, first spicing up with a viagrapille, which, unfortunately, the smoke down into the tank on a cute Fiat 500.

The small car swelled up to a fiery crossover, which raised themselves above the sensible 500L MPV. The Fiat 500X was born.

Since the market is too potent, high cars boom, and now gives Fiat its 500X model an overhaul, as to render the Italian in the fight against the new competitors in the class.

among other things This is with the new lighting and styling both front and rear, new instrumentation, more safety equipment and, not least, two of the manufacturer’s new ‘Fire-fly’engines that meet the EU’s stricter environmental requirements.

The two engines have turbo, direct injection and a particulate filter.

They are launched in a trecylindret version of 1.0 liters, which provides 120 horsepower, and a four cylinder version of 1.3 litre with 150 hp. The latter always goes in hand with a six-speed dobbeltkoblingsgearkasse.

We test the engine with 120 hp, which will replace the both the aged and dull ‘Multijet’engine of 1.6 liters, as well as the ‘Multiair’engine of 140 hp.

Testbilen is a campaign model called ‘Urban City First Edition’, which costs from well over 250,000 dollars. For the money you get a part introduktionsudstyr, but testbilen has been further gifted with enhancements that sends up the price of 268.000 dollars.

the Fiat 500X may, however, be obtained from 210,000 as crowns with the lowest equipment level, ‘Urban’, and the new engine at 120 hp. the

Car with personality
There is no doubt that the profile has been sharpened with the mini. And the internal values holds even: the 500X is still a practical car with a regular space and a reasonable luggage compartment of 350 liters. However, one has to live with that C-pillar is huge and takes a part of the view behind.

Behind the wheel have the prospect of a genteel and orderly dashboard with the casing of the karrosserifarven – a detail, the car shares with the ‘ordinary’ Fiat 500.

Infotainmentskærmen on the seven inch seems, however, something klejn and faded by today’s standard, and multimediesystemet is also not the fastest in the city.

the Seats are, in turn, velpolstrede, kørestillingen is fine, and on the road, you find a car that involves the driver more than the other models in the 500 series. The new engine is doing well and supply nice traction, while the consumption is reasonable 14.5 km/l after the WLTP standard.

Speederresponsen is cash, the underbody is relatively fixed, and the steering reasonably accurately speaking, with Fiat-glasses.

It attaches up for comfortable everyday driving than sporting behaviour.

the Basis for 210,000 as crowns have most of the equipment – but no emergency brake.

You also can not buy this as solved enhancement to the grundudgaven, you have to get up in the next equipment level.

Here you also get plenty of enhancements, but jumped forward while the up the price of 250,000 crowns. And so, we find ourselves in the same waters as the larger and well-equipped Nissan Qashqai.

Conclusion
Fiat 500X is a fine and fresh feature in the class of medium-sized crossovere.

The new grundmotor and mini gives vitality. However, you need to up the version to 250,000 dollars to get the emergency brake. It creates unnecessary challenges for the 500X, since the competition is pushing.
