Erling Haaland is a phenomenon. The Norwegian hits and hits and hits. Even after his move from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City, the striker is successful. The 22-year-old scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 win against Nottingham Forest, it wasn’t his first of the season. The Norwegian scored three goals in just 19 minutes in the 4-2 win against Crystal Palace last Saturday and single-handedly turned the game around after being 2-0 down.

Haaland needed seven minutes longer for his hat-trick against Nottingham. In the twelfth minute, Haaland pushed a cross over the line. Eleven minutes later, he swept away a Phil Foden shot that was blocked. He made the hat trick perfect with a header (38′). The second hat trick in a row – the Haaland madness continues in the Premier League.

In the 69th minute, Pep Guardiola replaced Haaland and sent Kevin de Bruyne onto the pitch. Probably a coach who can make such a change. Others had already taken over the scoring. Joao Cancelo and Julian Alvarez scored twice to make it 6-0.

For Haaland it was his goals seven, eight and nine in the Manchester City jersey – no player had scored that many in his first five games in the Premier League. Haaland’s goals secure City’s victories. His former BVB team-mate Mats Hummels spoke up via Twitter: “Oh, Haaland continues to score. That’s a surprise.”

Guardiola’s side are second in the Premier League with 13 points from their first five games. Only Arsenal FC has been more successful so far, the team from London has won its first five games of the season. Next Saturday Manchester will play at Aston Villa, there is much to suggest that the Haaland Festival will then be continued.

Liverpool FC also won on the fifth day of the game, but not as confidently as Manchester City. Jürgen Klopp’s team won 2-1 against Newcastle United. Fabio Carvalho headed the Reds’ winner eight minutes into injury time. Earlier, Alexander Isak gave the visitors the lead, which Roberto Firmino equalized in the second half. Liverpool sit fifth with eight points after five games.
