“Juncker: there is No danger to the nordic model”
“He pays tribute to the nordic model, scoff at the talk about his alcohol intake and would like to have a minimum income for all.”
“And the residents are welcome to take a greater place in the EU,” says kommissionsbasen Jean-Claude Juncker in a unique interview with the Nordic region’s overall news operation.”
“The soon to be 65-year-old president of the commission from Luxembourg, receives at his office in the classic Berlaymont building in the centre of Brussels.”
“up Here has Juncker is now less than half a year left on his post. The EUROPEAN elections on may 23-26 will be the first step in the process concerning who should be his successor. A new EU commission, with one representative from each member state, should then be proposed and added during the summer and autumn – like with more women, if Juncker gets who he wants.”
“– I began with four women (in the commission). It was not acceptable so I had to up it to nine – but it is still ridiculous. It would be completely normal if half of the commission would be women, ” he says to the Danish Ritzau, Finnish STT and the Norwegian NTB.”
“the TT’s representative has, in turn, jammed on the way to the interview, because of the striking air traffic controllers in Brussels.”
“the Danish competition commissioner Margrethe Vestager is among the women most frequently mentioned in the speculation about who can get a high post. With a week to go until the EUROPEAN elections to Juncker, however, neither say boo or baa if the different candidates.”
“– I’m not going to put me in the choices that the parliament and the council (EU heads of state and government) has to do. But I would not be upset if someone from the show the Nordic countries would be one of the top posts. It is time for our nordic friends, he thinks.”
“In Sweden has a lot of the debate for the EUROPEAN elections focused on the social pillar as Juncker launched together with prime minister Stefan Löfven (S) at the EU summit in Gothenburg in 2017. The pillar, which consists of 20 principles for better living and working conditions, has received sharp criticism from the bourgeois Swedish parties who fear it will lead to legislation in areas traditionally managed by the social partners.”
“christian democrat Juncker says not to be disappointed in their partifränder. But he does not agree with.”

“at the same time, he stresses that he does not see any risk.”
“– In the Nordic countries are playing the social partners have a big role and I don’t want to change it, for it has been successful. The social pillar will not threaten the nordic model. Either you do things through the law or through negotiations between the social partners.”
“It also applies the rules of minimum wage as Juncker would like to introduce in the whole of the EU.”
” the Principle is important. If you work, so you must be able to live on the salary you get. So it is not in all member states.”

” We have 20 different flygplatstyper in the EU. The united states has six. We have 17 different stridsvagnssystem in the EU. There is only one in the united states. If we add this in an intelligent way, we can save 50 to 100 billion a year.”
“the Majority of the EU member states are also members of Nato. The outside – such as Sweden and Finland – are on the other side of the EU’s own principle of solidarity, in which article 42, paragraph 7, of the treaty of Lisbon promises ”
“The article considers Juncker is as strong as the Nato försvarsgaranti – article 5.”
“– If one country is attacked the other must set up. I do not hesitate for a second, it would also be, ” says Juncker on the EU guarantee.”
“Get the european politicians are just as experienced as the president of the commission. He became finance minister 30 years ago and was the prime minister of the country in almost 20 years.”
“He has bejublats for its skämtlynne – but also questioned sharply, when it is apparent that his skojfriskhet would be due to an excessive consumption of alcohol.”
“Fixed such words cause him to snort.”
” I have said so many times that I don’t have a problem with alcohol. Stupid journalists asking always the same question, the tool mills the president of the commission – which typically Junckermanér then can’t keep himself from approaching the same subject again when he’s talking about brexit.”
“– If you are sitting on this entry – full or not – so you have to deal with reality. And the reality now is that they (Uk) have said that they will leave, ” says Jean-Claude Juncker.”
“Jean-Claude Juncker (born 1954, was appointed in the summer of 2014 to the president of the EUROPEAN commission, since his group – the christian democratic conservative EPP got the most seats in the EU elections at the end of may of the same year.”
“He was previously prime minister of Luxembourg from 1995 to 2013 and has in parallel also been the country’s finance minister 1989-2009 and president of the eurogroup, 2005-13. He is a trained lawyer, but has in principle the whole of his adult life working politically after that early have engaged in Luxembourg’s christian democratic party, CSV.”

” It is a scandal that the EU cannot speak with one voice at the UN human rights commission in Geneva just for that one or two members can’t say the truth that China does not follow the line that we would like them to do.”
“. . .growing nationalism and populism:”
” We have for centuries seen countries and nations fighting against each other. If everyone says that my country is my country, my opinion is my opinion, my ideas are the only right one so it will be total chaos.”
“– My hope and my dreams may be different, but if you want to act responsibly, we must follow what the governments say – and the british government says it wants to leave.”
