The Gastronomic Forum Barcelona will bring together more than 300 companies at the beginning of November
The Gastronomic Forum Barcelona will bring together more than 300 companies from November 7 to 9, 2022 at the Fira de Barcelona Montjuïc venue. The benchmark event for the hotel industry, specialized trade and gastronomy will show the latest developments and trends in the sector, and will project a comprehensive vision of the restaurant business in which the role played by the promotion of professional talent and the innovation.
Companies such as Damm, Bidfood – Guzman Gastronomia, Tupinamba, Makro, Collverd, Disalvi, Carné Gastronomia, Friman, Sosa Ingredients or Cuinats Jotri have already confirmed their participation in the commercial exhibition. The show will also host more than 70 local producers in the Espai Catalunya, organized by Prodeca and the Barcelona, Lleida and Girona councils.
The Gastronomic Forum is promoted by Alimentaria Exhibitions, the Fira de Barcelona company dedicated to food and gastronomy fairs in Europe and Latin America. Among other events, it organizes Alimentaria or the Barcelona Wine Week.
As in previous editions, Prodeca will install the Catalan wine showroom, with the presence of more than 50 wineries and small producers, and food companies linked to the slowfood movement in Barcelona, who will participate in the showroom hand in hand with the City Council and the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona (WBA).
“We are preparing an edition in which we will bring together the entire sector to help boost its business and competitiveness and rethink the role of its professionals, especially in a country where tourism and gastronomy are real economic engines”, assured the co-director of the fair , Josep Alcaraz.
The exhibition will coexist with a full program of master classes, thematic sessions, tastings and presentations that will highlight the importance of professionals who work in the restaurant industry, as well as the need to promote and retain their talent and seek solutions to the problems of shortage and qualification of personnel in the restoration.
“The current staff shortage crisis in the sector is at the same time an opportunity to reinvent this activity, since it is changing the economy of the restaurant, conditioning its business options and determining new lines of profitability”, said the co-director of the show and responsible for its program of activities, Pep Palau.
In this regard, the show will host the WS Award Show for the first time, the award ceremony for the prestigious annual awards that We’re Smart® World – the world’s leading organization for fruit and vegetable-based cuisine – awards to the best restaurants in the world in this category.
