This Friday, March 29, Paco Damas, the singer-songwriter, will present a tribute concert in honor of the generation of 27 poets from Las Gabias. The musician will perform at the local Municipal Theater at 8:30 p.m., presenting his musical-educational project, ‘Paco Damas singing to the hatless’. This compilation of songs is dedicated to Josefina De la Torre and Maria Zambrano as well as Concha Mendez and Carmen Count. This project is a didactic proposal that aims to raise awareness about the discrimination against women, and offer a platform for visibility and recognition.
He was born in Torredonjimeno in Jaen. The Gabirro City Council’s Department of Equality has stated that the concert was part of the International Women’s Day program. Ana Galvez, the mayor of Equality, said that they had “commemorated everything from March to date with dozens” of activities.
Paco Damas Canta a Las Sin Sombrero has eleven musical collaborations. These include Rozalen and Carmen Paris, Carmen Linares and Roko. Multiple women are involved in the fields of journalism, literature and painting.
The concert and round table will be held together under the title “Visible Woman” on Friday. This meeting will examine the lives of prominent female figures throughout history who were silenced or left out. The town’s Paco Damas concert, which is co-sponsored by the Granada Provincial Council, and the Fundacion Cultura de Paz will be open to all until it sells out.
