A brutal crime committed by a dangerous man.
To denote the senior prosecutor, Søren Harbo the 28-year-old James Schmidt, who has just been sentenced to life imprisonment for rovmord of two pensioners.
He was acquitted of a third murder of 82-year-old Eva Hofmeister, whose death was first deposited as the natural and the corpse cremated before the police got suspicion about the killing.
the Prosecutor was satisfied that the court followed his assertion of a life sentence.
– He never comes out. When you are convicted of two rovmord against older people, and when the former is punished for both attempted murder (against his mother’s friend, red.) and the rape of a child (a 14-year-old girl, red.),he says, and continues:
And then, when you have the psychological profile, which he has, so I have not the imagination to imagine that there is any, that at any time dare to release him. So he never comes out.

In its strafprocedure he went mainly after the life, where you can first apply for parole after 12 years, and secondary custody, there is also an open-ended sanction, but here, you can apply for proof, after three years.
– Detention only takes account of whether going forward will commit new serious crimes. A person, for example, has committed serious acts of violence and get custody, may sit in custody in the 20 to 30 years, but he can also, if he is no longer dangerous, be prøveudskrevet after 5-6 years, he says, and continues:
– for a life sentence one has to take into consideration both of you going forward, commit something new. But it also takes account of whether the rearward direction has committed a very serious crime.
the 112 – 7. jun. 2020 – pm. 10:04 Murder in the city: Now, the court has spoken
He does not regret that he also took Eva Hofmeisters death with in the indictment, even though a majority of the court chose to acquit for this.
– I think there were a variety of circumstances, which suggested that there had been a killing, and that it was him that had done it. and so hear it, that he did not intend to give detailed explanation about it, he says, and adds that now they must take the acquittal in this relation to note and see whether it should be retried in the court of appeal.
it Had made your work easier, if the body had not been cremated, and the apartment is first examined after two months?
– Yes it is clear. If the body had been opened, we would have a safe conclusion on whether it was a homicide or a natural death.
– Go forward with the issue?
– It is something you need to ask the Copenhagen Police leadership. But they know well to the issue.
