It is not much more than two years ago, the 43-year-old Rachael Reynolds from the uk’s Huddersfield felt so insecure about his appearance that she barely dared to leave his home.

Many people experience problems with the eyes and nerves, learning disabilities are far from uncommon, and in rare cases the disease can be manifested in the bones of false joints, scoliosis and knogledysplasi.

For Rachael Reynolds means the disease, that she has a lot of small tumours of the face, neck, arms, back, abdomen and legs. She has also hearing impaired and uses lip-reading when communicating with others.
Her father also suffered from NF1, but Rachael Reynolds first began to get the physical symptoms, as she came into puberty in 13-years of age. For each of her pregnancies, it has been gradually worse.
She has previously told in the media, how she has seen that the stranger has shouted at her on the street, and once she got to know that she looked like a crocodile.
She was in many of his younger years afraid that she would never find love because of his illness. However, in 2003, she began to date his old friend Mike, and in 2013, they were married. Today if you live in Yorkshire with their three children. Mike also has a 23-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.
But the 43-year-old mother had not thought that it would be a realityprogram, which would eventually give her the confidence she has lacked all her life.

She is one of the nine participants in the uk Channel 5’s new programsatsning ‘House of Extraordinary People’, in which nine people, each with their own physical challenges of moving in together in a house in Yorkshire for 10 days. The program’s purpose is to challenge people’s prejudices and the way to see other people.

Participation has been a bit of an eye-opener for Rachael Reynolds, which tells, amongst others, the Daily Mail and the Examiner Live, that she has now gotten far more self-confidence about his skin and his body.

– I don’t know if it’s going to change in my future, I just know that I can better talk about it now. I can’t compare myself with the other, for all are different. I have it easier to ignore uforskammetheden now. To see what the other is going through, has helped me to better be able to handle it, she says.
