On the one side stands president Nicolás Maduro, who in may 2018 was re-elected in an election the opposition boycotted. On the other side stands the opposition leader Juan Guaidó, who yesterday declared himself the country’s new interim president.
Maduro, who refuse to give up, has got support of China, Turkey, Russia, Syria, Mexico, and Cuba. Several of the countries criticize the united STATES to recognize the opposition leader Guaidó as the country’s president.

Russian president Vladimir Putin believes Guaidó and the opposition is trying to kuppe power in Venezuela, and that international law has been violated, according to a statement from the spokesperson Dimitrij Peskov.
