the Director of the international kvinderettighedsorganisation Women Deliver Katja Iversen, has gone on leave after accusations of racism and discrimination within the organisation.

she writes on Women A website.

‘I’m shaken, crushed and extremely angry at myself. I stand at the head of the organization, and I apologize and take full responsibility for these experiences and my role in them,’ she writes on the website.

the Decision to go on leave has been taken by the 50-year-old Katja Iversen itself.

It happens, after several former employees of Women Deliver on social media have described the problems with racism in the organization.

They have according to Katja Iversen described a ’toxic work environment’.

‘Black, the former employees have specifically described how they felt abused and discriminated in the time, where they worked in the Women Deliver,’ writes Katja Iversen.

And through my discussions with the staff, it is clear that the problems still lies deep.

Women Deliver has initiated an independent study to review the complaints.

Katja Iversen reports that she will cooperate fully in the investigation.

She has offered Womens A board to go on leave, pending the conclusion of the study. And the board has accepted, informs she.

– Women A board of directors is aware of and deeply concerned about the content of the testimonies shared by former and current employees in the organization, reads it according to the Althing from the board of directors, in a statement.

Katja Iversen was in 2018 won the Danish Berlingske.

She received the award for its work with girls and women’s rights worldwide in its position in the forefront of Women Deliver.
