26 people were arrested by the Civil Guard, including one in Almeria. Another eleven are being investigated in an anti-drug operation. It began with the complaint from the owner of a Cabra del Sante Cristo (Jaen), in which he stated that the person who lived in his house had made it a place for cultivation and sales of drugs. The charges against the arrested include crimes against public health and electric power fraud, as well as belonging to a criminal organisation.
The first investigations led to the identification of several individuals involved in cocaine trafficking in Sierra Magina (Jaen) as well as the person responsible in receiving and distributing the drug in Jaen. He was located in Cabra del Santo de Cristo.
After the person was identified, it was possible identify a woman of Cuban descent living in Aguilas (Murcia). She was responsible for the delivery and collection of cocaine shipments in the provinces Jaen and Granada.
These deliveries contained between 200 to 400 grams of cocaine. He also distributed between 100 and 200g of the substance in the two delivery points he had in Jaen and Granada. After the drug was obtained at these points, it was distributed to smaller distributors who purchased small quantities of the substance, ranging from ten to 30 grams.
Six retail outlets selling marijuana, cocaine and hashish were deactivated in Jaen province, specifically in the Sierra Magina region.
The identification of the leader of the organization was a major obstacle to the operation’s development. The Civil Guard finally placed an Albocacer Penitentiary Center inmate (Castellon) at the head. He was a prisoner but directed the distribution of cocaine.
The operation involved 22 house searches in the provinces Jaen, Granada and Malaga. This was done with the assistance of many different intervention units and specialized groups from the Civil Guard.
It was possible to recover 1,200 grams of cocaine and 600 grams of cutting substances. There were also more than 1,200 marijuana plants at various stages of development. One kilogram of this substance has been found in the buds. This is in addition to 175,000 euros of cash, six luxury vehicles, a motorcycle, and a number of mobile phone terminals, which are currently being investigated.
Apart from the items seized seven men and one women were arrested in Cabra del Santo Cristo, Jaen. One man and one lady were also taken into custody in Torre Cardela, Granada. Two men were in Granada. One man was in Villanueva de Las Torres (Granada). Two men were in Granada. Dehesas de Guadix (Granada). Two men were in Fuente Vaqueros (Granada), and six men and two ladies in Aguilas in Malaga.
A man and a women are being investigated in Larva, (Jaen), three males and two females in Cabra del Sante Cristo (Jaen), a Guadix woman (Granada) and a Villanueva de las Torres woman (Granada). A man was found in Malaga, and another in Murcia. They are all being investigated as suspected perpetrators in a drug trafficking offense.
With the support of the Units of the Cinological Service of the Corps GAR, GRS and Usecic of Cordoba Granada, Murcia and Jaen, the Organic Units of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Jaen and Murcia participated in the operation.
