Beveren The wielertoeristenteam Martini Racing Ciclismo has a new wegkapitein and it is someone with a lot of experience. Nobody less than former world champion Tom Boonen joins behind a project to horecalui to bring together on the bike.

Tom Boonen made Monday on his return to the peloton. They, however, have a group of cyclotourists. Together with the team of Martini Racing Ciclismo was a ride of some 50 miles afgemaald in the port of antwerp and the border with the Netherlands. The former world champion joins as wegkapitein behind a project to horecalui to bring together on the bike and them as to encourage a balanced lifestyle to keep. Currently the club has about 45 members, but this number wants to be with Tom Boonen as a landmark at the end of the year double. Boonen still looks very good toned out for a ‘retired’ rider. Or he is continuously in the brakes should go so that his team can keep up? “It’s really not that I them just as quickly from the wheel drive,” laughs the 38-year-old ex-rider of Quick-Step. “Some of these guests annually up to 15,000 km on the bike and that is 15,000 miles more than me at the moment. I am, however, still in good condition, but now, I’m mostly in my free time.” After his career as a professional cyclist had Tom Boonen had enough of the bike, but as a cycle tourist he feels the love be back in a flourish. “It’s fun to occasionally go back on the pedals to pitch,” he admits. “I am with the whole gang in January this year has also been on stage in the Spanish Calpe. So it is not that I only wegkapitein am on paper. I have the professional and of course quite busy and there will not be every time, but it is certainly the intention to regularly to ride.”
