The 18-year-old Nic (Timothée Chalamet, “Call me by your name”) is dependent on Meth. Including only he, but the whole family suffers. In particular, the father (Steve Carell) is almost based on the fact that he can’t help.
The Film shows Non-Nics get Rid of the drugs so often that the crashes can get a little monotonous. This goes under the skin, especially Chalamet as well as Carell are in desperation believable. Formally, however, Director Van Groeningen uses, unfortunately, often to the visual two – handed with a high-gloss images and the excessive use of Music. (aka)

But then Creed by Viktor Drago (Florian Munteanu) is challenged. His father Ivan (Dolph Lundgren) was killed in “Rocky IV,” the dad of the Creed in the Ring.
The Film by Steven Caple Jr. no longer has the same renewal Furioso as Ryan Cooglers “Creed” (2015). The main stream work like that, however, by his calm and precision. It’s about revenge, regret and guilt – and to fathers of different ages and levels of Maturity. This is a continuation, reinvention and homage in one. (zas)

in 1978, were discovered in a small, remote town in the canadian Yukon 500 rolls of film from the silent film era, the decades had survived in a swimming pool. Bill Morrison hits of this sensational find from the wide arches: to the beginnings of the American entertainment industry, to the economic and social history. In 1897, a gold rush broke out in Dawson City.
The native Americans were relocated, Donald trump’s Grandfather, Fred, opened a thriving brothel. Some of the careers that started in the Saloons that led to Hollywood. The city was at the end of the distribution chain of films that were now worthless. For the inhabitants, but they meant to have part of the World.
Morrison loves the historical film material intimately. The traces of the time in the images, give his history lesson with a wistful, lively immediacy. (gm)

You need to know anything about the Spanish war of succession, in the evil Fun of Yorgos Lanthimos (“The Killing of a Sacred Deer”) pleasure: Olivia Colman power as a Jive-ass Queen Anne mood; gigantic well-the scenes with Rachel Weisz and Emma Stone. A rough historical speculation full of nasties. Shamelessly, like in the movies must be. (blu)

Jacek (Mateusz Teenage) works as a construction worker at a giant Statue of Jesus. In the case of an accident, he is disfigured severely, the Doctors and transplant him to a strange face. He is fast, in contrast to its environment: The girlfriend leaves him, the mother doubts that he is really her son, the Church refuses to soon to donate for Jaceks expensive treatment.
Inspired by real cases, has turned the Director of a Satire on Poland, where the glow of a Catholic is respectability more important than humanity. As a Metallica Fan, and free spirit Jacek does not fit in there from the beginning. (ggs)

Animation
“Wreck-It Ralph” (2012) was an homage to the analogue age, the sequel to dare the leap into the digital present: The slot machines figure Ralph flees with the speed racer Vanellope to the Internet to search for a replacement for their broken game controller.
The grid appears in this Film as an urban air traffic zone, where avatars lawn and Pop-nerve-ups as barkers. Highlights of a Meeting under Disney princesses-Prince, the Like Vanellopes everyday clothing, as well as the final battle with a computer virus. Something the theme of friendship is overused, however. (zas)
