Michel Péclard has advised us of the new Restaurant Mama Persia in Rüschlikon. The well-known restaurateur operates on the left shore of lake Zurich more pickling and knows the area. Since his Ex-wife is Iranian, he is well-versed in Persian cuisine and commented: great Store, go there! Not least because you can count Persian Restaurants in Switzerland, on one Hand.

The Mama Persia located a few meters from the lake. In the premises of the Villa Schönegg is a Restaurant with Bed & Breakfast was in before. Navid zolfaghar pour, the owner of Mama Persia, has restyled the room fully – with the North-Iranian textiles, and Handicrafts from his home, lamps with changing colors, as well as wall reliefs. Zolfaghar pour has been made in recent years with catering and a food truck in the Zurich area a name.

Because his specialties arrive as well, he has now expanded its business field with a Restaurant. That he has to do as a Chef, and service is sometimes a little too much and during the recording of the order, running away to greet someone, we can’t blame him. He is just a host with a heart and soul in a little Locally.

A dozen Mezze, a variety of rice, barbecue, and stew dishes on the menu. You will be accompanied by soft drinks, the otherwise hard to find. Shabate Golab (5 Fr.) paste is an aperitif made from rose water, lemon juice and Mint, and just as refreshing as the mint-yogurt drink On the (5 Fr.). The latter comes in a green clay vessel on the table. It is so great that you could use it as a Vase.

to let the influence of Persian cuisine – a blend of Indian, far Eastern, Arab and Turkish influences, even not know, we recommend the Mezze before the outside. Not because they were worth high anything. But with Hummus (8 Fr.) or a pomegranate salad with tomato and cucumber (6 Fr.) mountains this food less discoveries than the main. The Mezze Dish Mirza Ghasemi (10 Fr.) baked, smoky-tasting eggplant that we can recommend anyway.

A really new and great experience of the crispy baked, warm rice cakes, Tah Chin, with 37.50 Fr. the most expensive dish on the map. He is like most of the food anmächelig to elongated plates. The Interaction of acid barberry berries to accompany the cake, and gently braised chicken breast pieces, the eggs and the saffron is very diverse.

This “Fried Rice” brings Persian cuisine to the point: rice is often the main meat of the thing; the spices are well dosed and tart sour, but not as sharp as in other Oriental cuisines. The dishes are also very well tolerated – this is also due to the long cooking times.

Especially the cooking times in the stews. We choose Ghormeh Sabzi (28 Fr.). The stew consists of beef, beans, and herbs, such as cilantro, Dill, or spicy-bitter, in the Iranian cuisine is the major fenugreek. The dried limes give the court this very own acid, we have not yet long enough.
