Paris is known as the city of love. One of the streets, that certainly contributes to it is the Rue de Crémieux with its adorned properties in pastel shades. The street consists of cobbles and is largely car-free, which makes it easier for people who want to visit the place and take pictures of the colorful houses.

Rue de Crémieux on Instagram provides a stream of images on the street and people in matching outfits posing in front of the facades. The Telegraph writes that over 31,000 photos are published on Instagram and residents describe the street as the most ”instagrammade” in Paris.

But the beautiful houses draw attention to themselves is not appreciated by all. The residents in the area have had enough and demand that the city authorities put up the gates. It to shut out the tourists and others who want to take pictures.

– It can be perceived as a fotoparadis, but for us who live here it has been transformed into a hell. Our dining table is next to the window and just beyond is the people taking pictures and screaming, ” says Antoine, one of the members of the neighborhood watch started, to The Telegraph.

According to the newspaper, the city officials considered various options to get to a sustainable situation before the summer, but pointed out that there are many different factors to take into consideration before restricting access to a public place.
