With dismay, the Chairman of the Bundestag Committee of inquiry, Armin Schuster has responded to criticism of Victims and survivors. Some of the allegations he found “unjust,” Schuster said in Berlin on Thursday on the sidelines of a meeting of the Committee.
The survivors had been accused this week in an open letter to the chairmen of the groups, especially the members of the Union and the SPD to block a rapid reconnaissance through the designation of irrelevant witnesses. The allegations have him hurt a lot, said Schuster. He wanted to try and cast doubt on the work of the Committee to address it.
On Thursday, the Committee decided to consult, before the parliamentary summer recess, a number of witnesses who were involved in the early removal of a Familiar of the later Christmas-assassin Anis Amri. Amri was on 19. December 2016, with a hijacked truck through the Christmas market on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz barreled. He killed twelve people. More than 70 people were injured.
