After massive rocket fire on Israel and Israeli air strikes in the Gaza strip, Palestinian militants have announced unilateral ceasefire. Fausi Barhum, a spokesman for the Gaza strip’s ruling Hamas, said on Monday that Egypt had mediated the return to a relevant agreement. This should immediately come into force. From the Israeli side, there was no confirmation.
Palestinian Militants fired in the evening several rockets into the Israeli border area. In several towns in the vicinity of the Gaza strip, the alarm howled sirens, as Israel’s army announced.
