The story is even crazier. On Tuesday, three days after the race, in the Canton of Valais, said the International ski Federation FIS a correction: Joana Hählen, in Crans-Montana for the first time in her career on the podium, was known to the Second rank. Behind the undisputed winner Sofia Goggia now Nicole Schmid led Hofer as a Second and Corinne Suter as a third. The Austrian and the Schwyzerin had previously been as a Fourth and Fifth classified. Fourth is now Hählen, Joana, Lara gut-Behrami follows behind Schmid Hofer teammate Stephanie Venier on the 6th place.

As the FIS on Tuesday in a Communiqué will be aware that the calculation of the correction-factor error. The regulations stipulate that Hand-stopped times can be counted as 13 hundredths. These were added instead of on Saturday, however, erroneously subtracted. Apparently, the Austrian Association insisting that the Hand-stopped times can be once again checked. And so, in the case of the FIS team is responsible and representative of the for the measurement of time, the company responsible Swiss Timing once again went on the books.

What had happened?

On Saturday, the women had taken care of downhill in Crans-Montana for attention. Unfortunately, in the first line, not the athletic achievements of an athlete, the measurement of time shall be liable – but because of the error. Ironically, in four of Switzerland – in Hählen, Well-Behrami, Jasmine Flury and Priska Nufer – not time stopped at the finish line. Because the light barrier measuring B-exit System, had to pulled the hand timing, and with a coefficient to be corrected. Only hours after the last race, the official standings were announced: Goggia 1, Hählen on 2 and Well-Behrami 3.

The uproar was large, in particular in Austria and Schmidhofer. The Austrian lost its third place to the Well-Behrami and spoke afterwards of a “Bschiss”. Well-Behrami said at the PK on Saturday night: “If we wait any longer, I will Second perhaps.” I was wrong. Now rank 6 remains your only. (red)
