It will not quite be like it used to, when transmissionerne from the Tour de France begins with the TELEVISION 2.

Thursday, notify the tv station that covers the world’s toughest bike races without its permanent ekspertkommentator Jørgen Leth.

– We have from the TV 2 Sports page, of course, wanted to continue the collaboration with Jørgen Leth, but unfortunately we have not been able to agree with Jorgen on the framework of his role in the year. We should be the very first to complain, and we know that viewers will do the same, says the team he will play for Frederik Lauesen.

concretely, would the TV 2 place the 81-year-old Leth in studio in Odense with host Thomas Kristensen and the author and the expert Henrik Jul Hansen.

It was Leth, not with on.

– Jørgen prefer instead to be in France. We have, in other words, had different expectations as to the cooperation in the year, and it’s really too bad that we have not been able to find common ground, says Frederik Lauesen.

The regret, obviously, Jørgen Leth.

– For me is the very essence of my work as a Tour de France commentator to be in France, where it is happening, and I looked forward to be back this year and far into the future. A vision I until recently shared with TV 2, says Jørgen Leth.

the Tour de France begins 6. July and ends 28. July.

TV 2’s team in France will be made up by the journalists Dennis Ritter and Rasmus Staghøj as well as the experts, Rolf Sørensen, Chris Anker Sørensen and Brian Nygaard.

Jørgen Leth is a big fan of cycling, and has been as good as always. He has covered the Tour de France on the TV 2 in the period 1988-2005 with Jørn Mader, and again 2009-2018 with Dennis Ritter and Rolf Sørensen.

He made dokumentarfilmene the Stars and the water-bearers (1973) and A Sunday in hell (1977) on, respectively, the Giro d’italia and Paris-Roubaix.

Ekstra Bladet has tried to get a comment from Jørgen Leth. It has at the time of writing not been possible.
