In Clermont Ferrand

Marion Rousse, the director of the Women’s Tour de France, announced in Clermont-Ferrand this Monday morning that the third edition of the Women’s Tour de France will start for the first time from abroad, from Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

The event will start on August 12 and end on August 18 with staggered dates due to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games (July 26-August 11). A nod to the Netherlands, the nationality of the queen of women’s cycling, Annemiek Van Vleuten, winner of the 2022 edition.

The first three stages will take place in the Netherlands. Seven days for eight stages. There will indeed not be one but two stages on Tuesday August 13, a time trial being notably planned for the afternoon in the streets of Rotterdam. The route will be unveiled in full on October 25 at the Palais des Congrès.

The 2ᵉ edition of the Tour de France women 2022 will take place from July 23 to July 30 with a start in Clermont-Ferrand and an arrival in Pau with eight stages on the program.
