Germany, defending champions, were eliminated from Euro-2023 Espoirs from the group stage, after their 2-0 defeat against England on Wednesday in Batumi (Georgia).

The young Mannschaft will have crossed the competition like a shadow, with an inaugural draw against Israel (1-1), a defeat against the Czech Republic in their second match (2-1) and a second loss against England, yet already qualified and who had left their best players to rest.

Another thunderclap in group C with the surprise qualification of Israel, little Thumb of the group, which surprised the Czech Republic during the last meeting of the group stage (1-0).

Israel, which had to win to hope to qualify and had to count on a German defeat, will face Georgia in the quarter-finals, co-organizer of the tournament with Romania.

This match will oppose the two surprise teams of the group stage (Georgia created the sensation by coming out on top Tuesday evening of group A ahead of Portugal and eliminating the Netherlands).

England, which flew over its group, without forcing its talent, will be opposed to Portugal.

France, Switzerland, Italy and Norway are vying for the last two tickets to the finals later in the evening (8:45 p.m.) in Cluj, Romania, to join Spain and Ukraine in the quarters.
