Carlos Sainz (ESP/Ferrari), winner of the Singapore Grand Prix:
“It was an incredible weekend from start to finish (…). We executed the weekend perfectly on my side and I think we handled the thrilling last part perfectly, giving Lando (Norris) the DRS and controlling the pace throughout the race. Of course, by stopping earlier than planned we had to make our tires last longer and the last few laps were at the limit, but I’m very happy that we managed to do it.
Frédéric Vasseur, Ferrari F1 boss:
“I am proud of what the team achieved this weekend (…), we know we have progressed and here in Singapore we have managed to get the most out of the SF-23, partly thanks to to the excellent work carried out in Maranello (the headquarters of Ferrari, editor’s note). We proved that we were competitive in qualifying and today it was also the case in the race. Carlos put in a masterful performance in the race, always in control of the situation, especially in the final laps when he cleverly ensured that Norris (Lando Norris, 2nd in the GP) had the DRS to defend against (George) Russell. Without the traffic in the pit lane, Charles probably would have finished on the podium. We are happy to be the first team to have ended Red Bull’s winning streak and we are satisfied to have taken these points which allow us to remain in the fight for second place in the constructors’ championship.
