Inter Milan and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement for the transfer of French international Benjamin Pavard, Italian media reported on Monday. According to Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sport television channel, Inter Milan will pay 30 million euros for the 27-year-old defender, a sum which could reach 32 million euros depending on the results of the Italian club.
Earlier on Monday, Italian club general manager Giuseppe Marotta told Radio Serie A: “There will be no announcement today (Monday), but everything is OK.” According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Bayern want to find a replacement for Pavard before formalizing his departure.
The French defender, whose contract with Bayern Munich expired in the summer of 2024, had expressed for several weeks his desire to discover another championship after having spent seven years in Germany, in Stuttgart (2016-19) and for four years at Bayern Munich where he won four German league titles and the Champions League in 2020.
Inter, 3rd in the last Italian Championship and finalist in the 2023 Champions League, started their season on Saturday with a victory against Monza (2-0).
