South Africa, the reigning world champion, crushed a revamped Wales team (52-16) on Saturday in Cardiff in a preparation match for the World Cup (September 8-October 28).
The Springboks scored eight tries through hooker Malcolm Marx (4th), winger Canan Moddie (22nd and 61st), center Jesse Kriel (35th and 52nd), third row Pieter-Steph du Toit (59th) and rear Damian Willemse (69th), plus a penalty (34th).
The Welsh, for whom it was the last preparation match before the World Cup in France, saved their honor at the end of the game thanks to their hooker Sam Parry (72nd).
Siya Kolisi, the South African captain, has made a comeback as a starter (with the armband) who suffered a partial rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee last April.
