A death that came suddenly and unexpectedly: Charlbi Dean Kriek, South African top model and acting talent, died at the age of just 32. Her management announced on Wednesday that she unexpectedly succumbed to an illness in a hospital in New York on Monday.
Dean Kriek recently celebrated her breakthrough as an actress with her leading role in the tragic comedy “Triangle of Sadness”, which won the Palme d’Or for best film at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The South African played the model Yaya, who suddenly has to fight for survival together with others after a boat accident. Dean Kriek also starred as a villain in the fantasy TV series Black Lightning.
Dean Kriek was from Cape Town and started modeling as a child. In 2009, she survived a serious car accident.
