A 41-year-old attacked a walker in Hamburg with a dead seagull. The man was provisionally arrested on Tuesday morning, said a police spokesman.
First, a 31-year-old woman called the police because the man insulted her and two other women during their dog walk on Öjendorfer See and exposed his genitals.
Apparently out of anger at the call, he hit her with the dead bird. It was initially unclear where the man got the animal from. The 31-year-old was unharmed.
When several patrol cars arrived at the bathing lake in the Billstedt district, the man jumped into the water. According to the spokesman, two officers eventually swam to him from a boat because he refused to leave the lake on his own. Now the 41-year-old is to be presented to a medical officer.
At around 5:30 a.m. at Hamburg Central Station, the federal police arrested a 29-year-old who was showing the Hitler salute to travelers in the lobby.
A spokesman said: “The man’s actions were immediately stopped by the officer. Since the 29-year-old German citizen behaved aggressively towards the federal police officer, he was handcuffed. This was followed by the transfer to the federal police station in Hamburg main station.”
As a breath alcohol test showed, the man was heavily drunk with 2.36 per mille. “Since the 29-year-old continued to behave extremely aggressively, repeated showing the Hitler salute and also did not seem to be able to walk due to his alcohol consumption, he was taken to the detention cell,” it said.
Just two and a half hours later, a federal police patrol also met a 50-year-old Pole at the main train station, who showed them the Hitler salute.
“Man was immediately asked to stop this behavior,” said the spokesman. “He was taken to the federal police station at the main train station because his identity could not be determined on site.”
Both men face criminal charges for using signs belonging to unconstitutional organizations.
