Twenty La Zubian women of various ages, all victims of gender-based violence, take part in a program that teaches self-esteem and motivation. It is organized by the Department of Equality of the City Council and held at the Equality Center 13 Roses.

They will all work together for several weeks to increase their employability and skills. In the meantime, they will also be working with a social educator to address their personal issues. The goal is to empower all the neighbors, to trust themselves more, to improve their professional qualifications, and to leave behind the vulnerability that they suffered from sexist violence.

The self-esteem workshop classes form part of the municipal program ‘CapacitaT,’ which was launched by the City Council of La Zubia in collaboration with Granada CF & the Don Bosco Foundation. Rebeca Sanchez, Councilor for Equality of La Zubia says that this activity will help neighbors overcome traumas and treat them as people we love.

Puri Lopez, the mayor of La Zubia says that the workshop provides individual psychological attention for each woman who needs it. She also highlights that this activity will help many women overcome personal issues after experiencing gender-based violence.
