According to Appinio, 57% of Spaniards have had to cut down on the length of their vacations, while 30% of them have decided to cancel them directly due to inflation. This global market research platform shows that more than half of travelers are searching for lower-priced accommodation options due to the rapid rise in housing prices over the past week.
24% of Spaniards believe they will travel to vacation within the first fortnight in August. However, not everyone can afford the same length of vacation. 34% plan to travel between 6-8 days and 30% will travel between 2-5 days. Some respondents will only go on a one-day excursion (2%)
79% of Spaniards plan to spend their holiday in Spain, compared with 7% of those who choose to travel outside Europe. Spain’s classic sun and beach destinations are still a favorite: Andalusia (31%), Valencian Community (23%), Catalonia (14%), Galicia (13%), and the Canary Islands (12%)
